NATE ADAMTHWAITE -B.Mus. - Classical Performance (Voice) (WAAPA), Grad.Dip.Edu. (Secondary Music) (ECU) Cert IV. - Musical Theatre (Voice), Cert I. - French, Cert I. – Spanish

Walking down the corridors of the Conservatorium, you will probably hear Nate before you see him as his melodic dulcet tones can be heard bouncing from wall to wall. Often visually mistaken for a drummer or guitarist, Nate is well-versed in the serene art of opera and classical singing and this influences his teaching, which emphasises the importance of good vocal health and strong technique across all genres. Nate also has a passion for musical theatre, gospel and most contemporary styles of singing.

There is an old saying that “those that can’t do, teach”, but with Nate that is not the case as he is no stranger to the stage and has performed in countless musicals with both Singleton and Muswellbrook Amateur Theatrical Societies. He has also achieved success in many singing Eisteddfods across the Hunter. Nate performs regularly at the Conservatorium’s Lunchtime concerts and specialist events. Nate has performed with Opera Hunter and The City of Newcastle Cultural Council, as well as freelance solo and collaborative recitals and concerts.

Nate’s philosophy is that everyone, no matter the level of skill or natural ability, can be taught to sing through hard work, determination and most of all fun.

Although singing is Nate’s primary instrument, he also teaches piano and musicianship.
