Alison Murphy - B.Mus. (Hons)
Alison completed a Bachelor of Music with Honours (First Class) from the University of Newcastle, studying with Paul Curtis and James Kortum. She received numerous scholarships whilst studying at Newcastle including the University of Newcastle Postgraduate Research Scholarship and the Australian Postgraduate Award.
Alison has been teaching flute since 1994, and has taught students from early childhood levels through to adult. Alison has travelled widely in the Hunter Region, teaching with the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music, Westlakes Music Centre, Broadmeadow School of Performing Arts and many other Hunter Region Schools. She has been teaching for the Upper Hunter Conservatorium since 1997, and currently teaches in Scone and Muswellbrook.
Alison has an extensive profile in performance as a flute player developed through numerous programs and with various orchestras and bands in the Hunter Region, Sydney and Victoria. Alison continues to perform regularly in the Upper Hunter and plays an active role in the teaching and performance program of the Conservatorium.
Alison resides in Muswellbrook with her husband and two young sons.
